Happy Birthday Key Club!
Happy Birthday to Key Club International, one of Kiwanis’ Service Leadership Programs! 🥳 Thank you for 96 years of shaping students into compassionate leaders. #KidsNeedKiwanis
A Tasty Fundraiser
This Spring, our Kiwanis Club had our second most successful fundraiser since we have been in existence.
Our club member, Jan Booker, had heard that service clubs and organizations could partner with their local Texas Roadhouse Restaurant to sell their FAMOUS Rolls as a popular fundraising idea.
The concept is simple:
Step 1. The club members take orders for the rolls by the dozen (rolls will be frozen)
Step 2. When completed, the club gives their local Texas Roadhouse the totals (rolls and their famous cinnamon honey butter)
Step 3. Texas Roadhouse makes the rolls and prepares everything for pick-up
Step 4. The club picks up the rolls and delivers them to members who in turn deliver them to their customers
Step 5. Texas Roadhouse makes money and the club makes a decent percentage of the sales
Our club, in just a short period of time, sold enough rolls to make over $750.00. This money will be put to such good use in helping the kids in our area and the kids around the world.
KIDS NEED KIWANIS
Kiwanis is the safety net that creates opportunities for children to be curious, safe and healthy regardless of the community in which they live.
Kiwanis is a positive influence in locations worldwide with a dream that all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.
The Kiwanis Family
Kiwanis created its family of sponsored leadership clubs to help people of all ages develop the heart to serve, answer the call to lead and accept the courage to engage. By working together, we can become an force for good in the world for children and communities.
Kiwanians around the globe have one common goal: To serve the children of the world. Kiwanis advocates this vision every day by providing opportunities to serve for every member of a community through Service Leadership Programs. Through these opportunities, youth and young adults around the world become competent, capable and compassionate leaders.

Indiana District Council Meeting

Fellow Members of Indy Metro Division Clubs & Service Leadership Programs: On behalf of my Key Club and CKI lieutenant governor counterparts, I hope you are planning to join us for our online Division Council Meeting this coming Wednesday, October 7th, from 5:30-6:30 pm. ALL KIWANIS CLUB, CKI and KEY CLUB MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE!
Since we will be celebrating on James Whitcomb Riley’s 171st birthday, the primary goal for this virtual GoToMeeting gathering will be to celebrate all things Riley! Our Indiana District has been supporting Riley Hospital for Children for 101 years, starting five years before they even opened their doors. Amber Miller, Associations and Radiothon Coordinator, Riley Children’s Foundation, and Susan Schwartz, Program Manager-Volunteer Resources with Riley Hoppital for Children at IU Health, will be joining us to provide an overview regarding the myriad of ways Kiwanis has supported their needs through the years.
We are also going to be calling on a representative from each of our eight Kiwanis clubs, sharing quick updates and future plans. Of course, we also want to learn what’s going on with Key Clubs and CKI Clubs in our area…and will definitely celebrate the brand-new Park Tudor Key Club, which our Broad Ripple Kiwanis Club has offered to sponsor!
Last, but certainly not least, it is high time you all kick me to the curb…so Governor Martyn Furnish will be presiding over the installation of our new Indy Metro Division Lieutenant Governor, Tina Siddle! For those of you who wish to contact her in the future, she may be reached at Tsiddle3@yahoo.com or (317) 563-6904. Tina is a second-generation Kiwanian, and I know that her parents, Ted and Elsie Siddle, and members of her North Indianapolis Club are mighty proud of her!
Please join the meeting from your computer, tablet or smartphone.

We have organized this Division Council Meeting to be fun and informative. Frankly, now that most of our members are accustomed to zooming around, I’m hoping we can celebrate “All Things Riley” every October near JWR’s birthday!
In closing, thanks to all Indy Metro Division members for allowing me to zoom onto so many of your club meeting calls, as well as letting me take part in your service projects, fundraising events and social gatherings. I’m so proud of how our club leaders have stayed in touch with all members, despite these troubling times…and know the officers who just took over last week will be counting on every member to help them navigate the way forward and seek new ways to meet the needs of kids and our community. And so long as you promise not to invoice me for membership dues, I plan on zooming around when time permits and stay in touch with so many fast friends I have made this past year!
Please make every effort to join us for this special hour of Kiwanis fellowship this coming Wednesday evening!
Brad B. Boyd
2019-20 Indy Metro Division Lieutenant Governor

Raising Money For COVID-19
Want to join us in supporting a good cause? We are raising money for the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, to support the most urgent needs of children, especially those related to COVID-19. And right now, every dollar donated on Facebook, up to $50,000 will be matched!
As you know, we serve kids around the world. Our Kiwanis Children’s Fund has received an overwhelming number of requests from clubs who need financial assistance to help children during the COVID-19 crisis—from providing food to hungry families to essential technology for students and so much more.
We are fundraising to help meet these urgent needs of children! If you would consider donating, I can assure you your gift will be put to good use.
