Our Valentine’s Day Service Project
Our Kiwanis Club was lucky enough to work with “Willow Lake Place” Assisted Living Facility this Valentine’s Day to help bring their residents some love, joy and excitement!
The week before Valentine’s Day, we got together during our regular club meeting and put together some special Valentine’s Day cards for each of the residents.
We also made some really cool “Candy Heart Cards” for each of the residents as well as provide them some other delicious treats.
While we were talking with the Activities Director at Willow Lake, we found out that they could also benefit from receiving books for the residents to read. Since we sponsor a Little Free Library called Naptown Books (which is located at Kiwanis International) – we were able to gather together a tub full of books that the residents can enjoy as well.
We love being able to give back to our community and Willow Lake Place is a great facility that we are happy to be partnering with!!!
Here is some additional info on Willow Lake Place :
From the moment you arrive, it’s evident Willow Lake Place is a step above the rest. With our meticulously maintained gardens and our inviting common spaces and apartments, we have something for everyone. We offer the residents of this pet friendly community the opportunity to thrive in mind and body by developing individual care plans to meet the needs of each resident. With a full-time licensed nurse available 24 hours a day to provide clinical oversight and coordination of care, we strive to maintain each resident’s independence. If the outdoors is what you enjoy, socializing with friends on the wrap-around porch and terrace, joining one our many Walking Clubs or gardening in the courtyard would be right up your alley. When the weather is less than ideal, there is never a lack of indoor activities to keep you engaged like Candy Bar Bingo, Crazy for Crosswords, Pinterest and Church Services. Plus, we are conveniently located near I-465, so all the conveniences of Northwest Indianapolis are not far from home.
