Our Kiwanis One Day Project

ki-one-day-1

It all started about 2 years ago as the Brainchild of Scott & René Booker and Casey Keller.  It was their love of books and their sense of community service that led to the development of the Little Free Library known as “Naptown Books” here in Indianapolis.  After raising the funds to obtain the library, and getting it fully decorated and ready to go, they enlisted the service of their Kiwanis Club, The Kiwanis Club of Indy – It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere, to help them get the library launched and open for business.

On Kiwanis One Day, members of our Kiwanis Club joined together to install the Little Free Library located at the Kiwanis International Headquarters.  After getting the Library mounted in place, the group filled the Library with books for all ages, designed free bookmarks, discussed future plans for literacy outreach programs, and came together for a fun filled day of community service.

We were even fortunate to have the Kiwanis International Foundation Board, Executive Director Stan Soderstrom and two past Kiwanis International Presidents show up to show their support.

It was an awesome Kiwanis One Day event that is literally…one for the Books!!!

We would love it if you could help us win $200.00 to the Kiwanis International Store by VOTING for us starting on November 28th by clicking on this link:  VOTE FOR US!!!!

And help us spread the word about this wonderful project by letting people know about the Little Free Library!  For more information on it – check it out:  Naptown Books
