Our First Major Service Project – Diaper Dump
Our first major service project our club was a “Diaper Dump”. We aksed individuals to donate diapers to our club so that we could donate and delieve them to two very worthwhile places. The first place was the BABE store, an incentive program run by the Marion County Public Health Department. http://www.eskenazihealth.edu/our-services/babe-store
Beds and Britches, Etc. (B.A.B.E.) of Indianapolis is an incentive program run by the Marion County Public Health Department that provides new and used clothing and supplies to pregnant women and children up to age 5. The program distributes coupons to participants, which can be redeemed at a B.A.B.E. store for new and gently used baby essentials.
Please view the B.A.B.E. Store brochure for more information.
We asked them since we would be dropping off diapers was there anything that they needed help on. We wanted to volunteer our time as well as donating to them. They took us up on the offer and several of us one evening meet at the BABE warehouse and packaged diapers, clothing, and blankets for the BABE store. We had a lot of fun doing it and get to learn more about each other during this time. We made it a quick meeting, social time and service all in one night!
The second place we found to donate diapers to was the Julian Center. http://www.juliancenter.org/
Be Grateful….
Came across this today…and thought I would share it with all of you! Too often we take things for granted. And as you will see soon…our club members are doing everything we can to make sure that we spread this word…and do great work.
